Mamie Cleo Taylor, born on December 9, 1934, in Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, in her hometown of Roanoke. She was 90 years old.
Mamie’s life spanned nine remarkable decades, during which she witnessed and experienced profound changes in the world around her. Through it all, she remained a steady presence for those who knew her—a source of strength, resilience, and quiet grace.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Stevens and Craig Taylor. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
Mamie leaves behind a loving family who will carry forward her legacy. Her children include Betty Paradis and her children Loretta, Wendy, Maurice, Christopher, and Jeremy; Robert Stevens and his children Robert Jr. and Samantha; Suzanne Altice and her children Meagan, Miranda, James, and Mary; Thelma Overstreet; Danny Stevens and his children Pamela, Israel, and Cynthia; and Rosemary Stevens. Each of them carries cherished memories of Mamie’s presence in their lives.
There will be no service per her wishes.
