Margaret Anne Ganister, born February 24, 1926, died on August 26 at her home in Centennial, Colorado. She was 99 years old. She was born and raised in Marion Station on the eastern shore of Maryland. She graduated from St Mary's Seminary, and Madison College (now James Madison University). After graduation, she moved to Pennsylvania for a job as a dietician at Abington Hospital, where she met Robert Ganister on a blind date. She then attended Mills School in New York City and obtained a teaching certificate. She married Bob in 1952. They made their home in Hatboro where they lived for over 71 years. She was on the faculty of Stevens Junior School in Chestnut Hill.

They raised 4 children. Margaret Anne enjoyed taking craft classes including stained glass and chair caning. They attended local theater, and loved going to live music. The family spent many weekends at the beloved Ganister's Gulch in the mountains of PA. After Bob retired, they traveled for much of the year in their motorhome. They saw most of the country, including Alaska. When Bob no longer wanted to travel, she traveled without him. It was one of her favorite things.

Margaret Anne was kind to everyone and included everyone in her family. We never knew how many would be at the dinner table, or breakfast. Other kids were common on vacations and weekends at the Gulch.

Arrangements are by Baskwill Funeral Home in Hatboro, and internment is in Hillside Cemetery in Glenside, PA. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Ganister, her sister Christine Nyce, and her son, John Ganister. She is survived by three children, Larry Ganister and his wife Nanci; Linda Ganister and her wife Susan Duffy; and Nancy Reese and her husband Mike. Also by 4 grandchildren, Steven and Jeffery Ganister, and Traci and Quentin Reese.
