Margie Fisher was born on February 24, 1932 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family, in Evanston Illinois on Monday October 13, 2025 where she resided the last 4 yrs of her life.
A rich full life, Margie grew up in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood of Philadelphia. She was the youngest of eight and survived her siblings.
Early in her career, she found a home at the Legal Aid Society in New Jersey, where she worked as a bookkeeper for over 30-years. She loved the work and the colleagues that became friends in that Trenton brownstone.
She was central to the fabric of our family. Her apartment was always the epicenter of the holidays with an open door and the wonderful smell of a Famous Deli fish platter wafting down the hallways.
Her memory is indistinguishable from her razor-sharp wit, rich humor, and excellent taste in comedy. She is survived by her two daughters, two sons-in-law, four grandchildren, and two great grandsons. She was our Funny Girl, undoubtedly the genetic source of the family's funny bones.
Services were private. Donations can be made in her memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, https://www.cff.org. Arrangements by Chicago Jewish Funerals - Buffalo Grove Chapel, 847.229.8822, www.cjfinfo.com
