Maria Concepcion Ortiz

Maria Concepcion "Concha" Ortiz (née Malo), age 84, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at her home in Clermont, Florida, surrounded by her family. Born on December 8, 1940, in Bogotá, Colombia, Maria lived a life grounded in faith and love.

Maria was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, wife and friend who cherished the bonds of family. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Catalina; her son-in-law, Juan Delgado; and her granddaughter, Emma Sophia. Her siblings—Juan Francisco, Rafael, and Clara —along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends also mourn her passing. She now rests alongside her brother, Carlos.

Maria found joy in the simple beauty of everyday life. She had a passion for knitting and crocheting, creating intricate pieces that brought comfort to those she loved. Her home flourished with vibrant plants she nurtured with care. Through drawing and painting, she expressed a quiet creativity that enriched the lives of those close to her.

Her life was a testament to devotion—devotion to God, to family, and to the gentle rhythms of grace-filled living. The values she upheld continue to resonate through the lives of all who knew and loved her. A devoted Catholic, Maria's unwavering belief in God was the foundation of her life. Her spiritual strength carried her through every season and served as a quiet inspiration to those around her. She lived her faith with humility and grace, offering acts of kindness that reflected her deep devotion to God.

A memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Divine Providence Catholic Church in Miami, Florida on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 12:30 p.m., followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Family and friends will gather in prayerful remembrance to honor Maria's life.
