Martin "Marty" Piazza
age 73, passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2025, from complications relating to Parkinson's, leaving his beloved wife, Marybelle, daughter Julia (Justin) Porter, son Marco (Marlowe) Piazza, grandchildren Leo and Lillie Porter and sister Lana Piazza.
Marty graduated from the University of Cincinnati, and received a Masters in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, AZ. He left a successful career in banking, spanning decades, where he was V.P. of Chemical Bank in New York City and District President of KeyBank in Cincinnati, to operate 4 store locations of Piazza Discepoli Wine Merchants and Piccolo Wine Bar with partners Guy Discepoli and Steve Dinnerstein.
Marty was a brilliant man with a wry smile and a great sense of humor. He loved his customers and was well known for his coveted holiday gift boxes that included his favorite book, music CD and red and white wine for that year that was a favorite gift to both give and receive. Marty loved all things Italian and spoke the language fluently. He loved his family, travelling, especially to Italy, reading, good music, good wine, and deep conversations. He also played the piano masterfully, entertaining his family and friends. Marty served as chairman of the board of both WGUC and Hospice of Cincinnati, among many other civic contributions. He is, and will always be, profoundly missed.
A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Saturday, Nov 1st, from 5-8 p.m. at Flourish Ayurveda, 3747 Eastern Ave. Please bring your favorite story of Marty to drop in the Memory Basket.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Cincinnati, Blue Ash and Hamilton, for their wonderful care. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati https://hospiceofcincinnati.org/donate/
