Mary Bridges (née Adams), age 61, passed away on September 19, 2025, in Woodville, Texas. Born on November 22, 1963, in Portsmouth, Ohio, Mary brought joy and laughter into the world from the very beginning and continued to do so every day of her life.
Mary dedicated her career to customer service, with a special passion for caring for the elderly. Her infectious laughter and warm spirit brightened the days of those she served. Whether offering a kind word or sharing a joke, Mary had an extraordinary ability to lift spirits and make people feel seen and valued.
She was a woman of many passions and lived life with unmatched energy and flair. A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Mary never missed a game and loved nothing more than playfully debating football with her sister Kim—each fiercely loyal to their team. Her love for sports was matched by her love for adventure; she and her sister Rachael often embarked on paranormal escapades together, swearing they saw ghosts and laughing all the way home. Time spent with her sister Sherri was equally cherished—filled with stories, laughter, and deep connection.
Mary also found peace in nature. She enjoyed hunting in the woods on her property alongside her beloved husband Dan Bridges—her soulmate and partner in crime for 22 years. Their bond was one of deep affection and shared joy. At home, she doted on her two dogs, Chloe and Bella, who were as much a part of her heart as any human companion.
Family meant everything to Mary. She is survived by husband Dan Bridges of Woodville, Texas, her children Dennis Gonnerman of Missouri; Enrique Benitez and Veronica Benitez of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Angelica Benitez of Dallas, Texas; and Sarah Eady of Houston, Texas. She leaves behind 18 grandchildren who will carry forward memories of their vibrant grandmother. Mary is also survived by three sisters: Sherri Cannon of Waldorf, Maryland; Kim Taylor; and Rachael Bowen, both of Jacksonville, Arkansas and a sister in law, Cindy Martin of Splendora, Texas as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Mary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chet and Shirley Adams of Portsmouth, Ohio, her nephew, Michael Sheets of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and two brothers in law, Brian and Brad Bridges of Woodville, Texas.
Mary's personality was larger than life—she wasn't just the life of the party; she *was* the party. Known for always being dressed to impress with flawless style, she lit up every room she entered with humor that could leave an entire crowd in stitches. Her cooking was legendary—especially her fried potatoes—and no gathering was complete without one of her delicious meals or contagious laughs.
Her presence brought joy wherever she went. There was no sadness when Mary was around—only hilarious chaos wrapped in warmth and love. She spread positivity effortlessly and left everyone better than she found them.
Mary Bridges is deeply missed by all who knew her—family members whose lives she shaped with love and laughter; friends who became family through shared memories; coworkers whose days were made brighter by her smile; and even strangers who were lucky enough to cross paths with someone so full of light.
The world is undeniably less bright without Mary in it—but those who knew her will carry that light forward in their hearts forever.
Until we see you again... Bob. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 22, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Dan and Mary's house 8854 US HWY. 190 East
