Mary Jane (Glumac) Trexler

Mary Jane Trexler, 66, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Born on March 31, 1959, in Crane, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Eli and Florence (White) Glumac.
A 1977 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, Mary Jane went on to earn her nursing degree from Harrisburg Area Community College in 1980. She devoted more than 40 years to a compassionate career in pediatric nursing, serving at both Polyclinic and Harrisburg Hospitals, where she was known for her kindness, skill, and gentle care for children and their families.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband, David Trexler; her sons, David (Elizabeth), Matthew, and Jonathan; her beloved grandson, Jonathan David; her sister, Susan; her brothers, Tom (partner Judy Bailey), Edward (Sharon), and Mike (partner Susie Cominsky) Glumac; and many cherished nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, George (Cinde) Glumac, and her parents.
Mary Jane's greatest joys were her family, her young patients, and her many beloved cats. A lifelong advocate for animal rescue, she volunteered for many years helping cats find loving homes and was always ready with expert advice for anyone needing help with their pets.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Barb (Catts) Rice for her enduring friendship and compassionate care throughout Mary Jane's illness.
In accordance with Mary Jane's wishes, no services will be held. Memorial contributions in her memory are respectfully encouraged to a cat rescue or animal charity of your choice.
