Mary Agnes Thorne (nee Daly)
SCHERERVILLE, IN - Mary Agnes Thorne (nee Daly), age 83, of Schererville, IN passed away June 18, 2024 surrounded by her beloved family at her home. Born March 30, 1941, she was preceded in death by her son, Sean Matthew Thorne; her father, John Daly, her mother Mary Claire Ambrose; her aunts: Shirley (Al) Wagner and Helen (Harry) Clark; Nephew J. Tom Williams and cousin Linda Windisch.
Mary was born in Watertown, NY settling in Montoursville, PA. In 1962, she married her loving husband, Ron Thorne, Sr at Farragut United Methodist Church. Mary dedicated her life to her family and raising her children. She was a scout leader and always an avid/active volunteer. Later in life, Mary started her career in retail.
Mary is survived by her four children: Ronald (April) Thorne, Jr., David (Kim) Thorne, Scott (Christine) Thorne and Wendy (Michael) Chasko; sister in law Carlene (Richard Dochter) Hamilton and brother in law Gregory (Karen) Thorne; seven grandchildren: Heather (Ryan) Ward, Blake (Veronica) Thorne, Morgan (Alec) Inman, Kyle (Meaghan) Thorne, Zachary (Natsuki) Chasko, Kayla Chasko (Ethan Scheidt) and Adaleyn Heilman; seven great-grandchildren: Troy Campbell, Haley Campbell, Ruby Ward, Khalessi Thorne, Grayson Ward, Jaxon Scheidt and Roy Chasko; cousins: Melvin Windisch, Kim Seredicz, Shelby (Bob) Moorman, nephews: Jeff and Chad Hamilton and many more loving relatives.
In honor of Mary's wishes, she has been cremated. Mary and Ron along with Mary Claire are returning home and will be interred at Twin Hills Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Muncy, Pennsylvania.
