Mary Terese “Tracy” Walsh, 63, of Basalt, Colorado, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, surrounded by family.

Born September 21, 1962, in La Grange, IL, Tracy was the beloved daughter of Darlene Walsh and the late Jerome Walsh. A visionary in healthcare, Tracy began her career as a hospital social worker and later earned her PsyD from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She devoted her life to creating evidence-based protocols that transformed patient care in hospitals across the United States and around the world. Her frameworks saved lives, eased suffering, and elevated standards of compassion in global medicine.

Tracy graduated with honors from the University of Iowa, and completed her Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois Chicago. There she fused rigorous scholarship with profound empathy—qualities that defined her extraordinary career. She is survived by her loving mother, Darlene Walsh; brothers Pat Walsh (Stephanie) and Tim Walsh (Molly); sisters Colleen Koch (Robert) and Erin Walsh; and a cherished extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, and friends whose lives she enriched with her warmth, wit, and unwavering dedication.

Tracy was preceded in death by her father, Jerome Walsh, and her nephew, Michael Walsh.

A private service and family gathering will be held in La Grange, IL. A memorial gathering in Basalt, CO will be announced.
