Matthew Bruce Call

Matthew Bruce Call (Matt), 47, of Tampa, Florida, passed peacefully into the presence of God on November 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. His legacy of kindness and faith will live on in all who knew him.

Matt was born in Painesville, Ohio, on Friday November 11, 1977, to Bruce R and Jeanette Call during an early winter blizzard. A 1996 graduate of Madison High School, he attended Cedarville College, earning his bachelor's degree in management in 2000. After graduating he moved to Florida and began a 25-year career in the land development industry, including work as the project manager of the award-winning, 2,400-acre, master-planned community of Starkey Ranch in Odessa. His hard work, professionalism, and care for colleagues earned him the respect of all those who crossed his path.

Matt's greatest joy was his family. He married the love of his life, Jennifer (Jenny) Vick, in 2011, and together they raised two amazing children, Adelynn and Austyn. His faith in Christ was unwavering and genuine, characterized by his kindness, willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need, and church involvement. His project management expertise played a key role in the construction of Illuminate Church in Kissimmee where Matt also served as an elder. He enjoyed woodworking, Ohio State football, and cheering on the Cleveland Browns, regardless of their season's outcome.

Matt is survived by his wife of 14 years, Jenny; his children, Adelynn G Call and Austyn M Call; his parents, Bruce R Call and Jeanette Gould; and his sister, Kimber Fessler. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bruce E Call and Mary A Call; and Marcus G Ormsbee and Ethel W Ormsbee.

His celebration of life service, with a reception to follow, will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Family Church Land O Lakes, 22920 SR 54 Lutz, FL 33549. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to the Matthew B Call Memorial Scholarship at Cedarville University (www.cedarville.edu/advancement) or a charity of your choice in Matt's memory.
