Maxine passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025.
Maxine was born in Rockford, Iowa on August 10, 1936. She is preceded in death by husband Vern, sister Ladonna June, parents Ted and Rhoda Fredericks. Maxine was raised in Rockford, Iowa and attended Rockford High School. While in high school, Maxine and Vern started courting and eventually married on August 23, 1954. Vern and Maxine ended up in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1984, Vern and Maxine became a licensed sponsors of Dale Carnegie Training. They retired in 1999. They loved their retirement life. They enjoyed golfing, traveling, entertaining, and teaching their grandkids to play the family card game of 500 and kings in the corner. Maxine loved to spoil the grandkids on their many shopping sprees. Maxine loved to bake cookies, volunteering in local hospitals, crocheting blankets, and many other craft activities. Maxine could light up a room as she always entered with a big smile while carrying a big plate of chocolate chip cookies and trays of cheese and crackers. Vern and Maxine loved to entertain whenever possible, and host many famous happy hours. They had a very wonderful marriage filled with laughter, love, kids, grandkids, and many friends. Vern and Maxine were married for 61 years. Maxine is survived by her son Scott (Hollie) Laun daughter Katie (Keith) Rosenbaum. Grandchildren: Kassandra (Jesse) Brandt, Allen (Alicia) Rosenbaum, Amy Jo (Sean) Snow, Jordan (Gigi) Laun and Austin (Laurie) Laun. Great grandchildren: Renee and Cynthia, Levi, Mason, Brynn, Noelle, Oaklynn, Claire, Eve, William, Percy, Prestyn, Patrick, and Oliver. Nieces: Starla, Sandy, Janice, Nancy, Tammy, Billie Jo and Diane Paine. A private family gathering will be held on November 22, 2025 and Maxine will be laid to rest at WillowBrook Methodist Church, next to her husband Vern. The family would like to say a special thank you to Esther and her team at American Assisted Living for making the last year of her life a place of safety and great peace.
