Melissa Kay Fowler (56) of Clearwater, Florida, died at home on October 19, 2025.
She was born in Evansville, Indiana, on December 21st , 1968, an early Christmas present for her family. Melissa was a busy little girl, always happy, growing up with lots of family and friends, who loved being outdoors, especially on the water boating.
She attended schools in Largo, Florida, and Evansville Indiana (William Henry Harrison High School) and later lived in St. Louis, Missouri and Louisville, Tennessee.
She had an entrepreneurial spirit (much like her mother) and was a hard worker,
starting multiple businesses, including a very successful medical provider placement service spanning multiple states. She most recently worked at an assisted living facility, planning program activities for the residents.
Melissa was a woman of many talents: cooking, baking, crafts, home improvement, etc. She loved to attend garage sales and go "junking" and turn other people's trash into treasures. She had a heart of gold and, even with limited resources, did what she could to support others and take care of people. She was responsible, resourceful and creative, and she and her mother enriched and improved the Timberline HOA community they lived in with their ideas, their tenacity to get things done, and their many friendships.
Most of all, Melissa was a devoted daughter to her mother, Barbara, and mom to her 4-legged daughter, Mystique.
Melissa is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Kay Wooldridge (Fowler) and
father, John Orlando Fowler; and aunts/uncles Jimmy (Sally) Wooldridge, Mary Jane
(Bud) Goodman, and Peggy Odom.
She leaves behind her brother, Michael (Diane) Fowler; sister, Mandy (Tom) Cracolici; nieces and nephews, Mary Ann, Fabio, Kylie, Kelsiann; uncle, Tom (Beth) Wooldridge; aunt, Merna Board; and numerous cousins.
