Michael Lawrence Frank, Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Stockton University, beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on October 16, 2025, at the age of 75. Michael leaves behind a legacy of scholarship, service and devotion to his family, friends and the university community.

Michael grew up in the Bronx, New York and attended the University at Albany where he received his PhD in psychology. A dedicated educator, he joined the faculty of Stockton University in the Psychology Program in 1977. He was passionate about teaching and was committed to providing an engaging learning environment. Michael collaborated with his students and colleagues to publish research on topics including statistics, motivation, research methods, gambling, and risk-taking behavior. Following his retirement, he established a scholarship through the Stockton University Foundation to continue to inspire students to conduct and publish psychological research.

As an active member of the academic community, Michael contributed to the growth and development of Stockton University through his leadership as the President of the Stockton Federation of Teachers, President of the Stockton Faculty Assembly, Coordinator of the Psychology Program, and his participation in many university and community committees and organizations. A dedicated mentor, Michael was deeply committed to supporting both students and junior faculty. His thoughtful guidance and encouragement helped them pursue their goals and made a real difference in countless lives.

Michael cherished his family and many friends and was a source of warmth, wisdom and humor. He loved spending time with family, getting together with friends, playing racket sports, especially pickleball, walking with his dog Toby, and his memorable travel adventures.

He is survived by his loving wife Maureen, sister Susan and brother-in-law Robert, sister Valerie and brother-in-law Ron, sister-in-law Carolyn and brother-in-law Warren, niece Danielle and husband Chris, nephews David and Brian, nieces Sarah, Laura, and Julia, great nephews Shane, Josh, Nick and Luke, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Leanor Frank, and his brother Robert Frank.

Michael Frank made the world a better place for his family, friends and the Stockton community. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all those whose lives he touched.
