Myles Robert "Bob" Burke
(If you ever called him Myles, he'd quickly correct you: "You can call me Bob!")
Bob passed away on November 12, 2025, in North Branch, Minnesota, at the age of 84.
Born June 28, 1941, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Bob was the son of Ann Henning and Myles V. Burke. He grew up near the Minnesota State Fairgrounds and attended Holy Childhood School, where he jokingly claimed he finally graduated eighth grade—on his third try.
Bob proudly served six years in the National Guard, reflecting a lifelong commitment to his country and community. His Catholic faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him strength and comfort.
Bob loved bass fishing with his best friend Ron "Ole" Olson, spending countless hours on the water competing to see who could catch more—and trying not to get "skunked." He was a passionate NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhardt Sr. as his all-time favorite driver. Bob cheered for the Minnesota Vikings, rooted for the Gophers, and enthusiastically supported anyone playing against the Packers. On game day or race day, you could always find him tuned in and fully engaged.
Bob is lovingly remembered by his son James Burke (Laura), daughter Sheri Karpenko (Dan), and grandchildren Gabriela Burke and Mack Karpenko. His legacy lives on through them and the many cherished memories they shared.
He was known for his signature farewell: "Love ya, see ya, BYE!"—words that now serve as a warm and lasting goodbye from a man who brought humor, heart, and joy to everyone around him.
May his memory be a blessing.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church, 13060 Lake Blvd., Lindstrom, MN.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caring staff of St. Croix Hospice and Encore Assisted Living in North Branch, as well as Bob's dear friend Judy Nelson, for her kindness and support.
