Neil Hupfauer, 83, of Coppell, Texas, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025. A visionary entrepreneur and beloved family man, Neil left an indelible mark on the family entertainment industry and the hearts of all who knew him.

Neil was born on October 23, 1941 to Corneilus Hupfauer and Alice Thompson Hupfauer in Chicago, Illinois.

Neil proudly served his country as a United States Marine, a distinction he carried with honor throughout his life. Neil's career began while he was still serving his country. In 2016, Neil notes "The Marines taught me self discipline, work ethic, commitment, organization, execution, details and above all, teamwork." Those values-and what seems like an endless driving energy to his friends, family and associates-produced one of the most successful careers the bowling industry has ever seen.

After a deployment in Okinawa, Japan from 1959-60 he was stationed at Camp Matthews in San Diego and worked part time at a Jack in the Box restaurant with his bowling partner. After discharge he joined Foodmaker, Inc., parent of Jack in the Box. From that part time job, he rose to become a Division Vice President over a five-state region. Neil's entrepreneurial spirit was further demonstrated in his successful businesses as the founder of The Drover Pit Barbeque, Inc. and PCH Dog House, Inc. Neil continued on to become a true pioneer in the bowling and entertainment business. He founded Triangle Bowl, FunFest, and Main Event Entertainment, building them from the ground up into thriving family entertainment center chains that brought joy to countless families across the country. His innovative vision helped redefine the family entertainment experience. His contributions to the industry were recognized in 2021 when he was inducted into the prestigious Bowling Proprietors' Association of America (BPAA) Hall of Fame. Most recently, Neil continued his entrepreneurial spirit through his work with Corky's Gaming Bistro and as the Chief Operating Officer of Cinergy Entertainment Group.

Beyond his professional achievements, Neil's greatest pride was his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, who cherished every moment with his loved ones. Neil enjoyed every opportunity to support his grandchildren and their interests. Neil was also known by his many friends, acquaintances and colleagues for his helpful, welcoming nature. Neil has been quoted as saying "I am most proud that I have made many friends, created many jobs, and raised terrific kids. What more could anyone ask for?"

His warmth, wisdom, generosity, and guidance will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Neil's legacy of innovation, entrepreneurship, and his devotion to family and friends will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered. "Semper Fi" -always loyal.

Neil is survived by his daughters Mandy and her husband Jim, Camille and her husband Tom, Charla, and Ginger and her husband Rob, Amy and her husband Bill; his son Frelan and his wife Barb; and his grandchildren Jenny, Holly, James, Parker, Connor, Molly, Adam, Lauren, and Ellie, as well as his five great grandchildren: Natalie, Caitlin, Rian, Elena, and Jaxon. Neil is preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Alice Hupfauer; his brothers James (Jim) Hupfauer and Robert (Bob) Hupfauer and his wife, Jan Hupfauer.

Services will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home at 7405 W Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75225. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st from 4-7 PM. A Memorial Service celebrating Neil's life will take place on Sunday, November 2nd at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Neil's memory.
