Nonie Marlene Fiskum, aged 58, passed away on October 5, 2025, in Atwater, California. Born on August 21, 1967, Nonie was renowned for her kindness, loyalty, and earthly spirit. Her unique presence profoundly impacted everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
Nonie dedicated her professional life to culinary arts, notably as a sous chef at Stuart Anderson's Black Angus Steakhouse in Modesto, CA. She has always been affectionately known as a "feeder," a title she wore with pride, ensuring everyone enjoyed her cooking.
Nonie was extremely active in her church, she was the Sunday School Superintendent and a guardian angel of all the students. During her time in the church she discovered her relationship with God to become ever so strong. She held bible studies in her home with fellow ladies of the faith, Elders, Overseers, Pastors and Deacons and anyone that wanted to converse with her about God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirt and they would discuss meanings of the bible verses which they were studying.
Beyond her professional role, Nonie was named the "Corn Fairy" of Santa Cruz, where she generously distributed Elotes Corn to the homeless. "American corn with a Mexican flair" is what she used to call her Elotes.
Her hobbies reflected her vibrant and eclectic nature, embracing the creation of beautiful tie-dyed clothing and exploring the metaphysical spiritual healing properties of crystals and stones, Nonie's life was a testament to her belief in kindness and community service, attributes that mirrored in her personal and professional life.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Wyatt Fiskum; children, Desiree Douglas, Anthony Fisher-Moon, Ismael Castro IV, Trista Cole, Jeremiah Castro, and Ariana Fiskum; and grandchildren, Drake, Jade, Keeley, Aurora, Lilly, Johnny-Xzavier, Hendrix, Ryder, Olorin, Serina, Dominick, Jacob, and two great-grandchildren, Elias and Anthony. Nonie was preceded in death by her father, Walter Fisher, and is survived by her mother, Patricia Timmons, sisters Jackie Serino, Shannon Fisher and only brother Walter Fisher Jr .
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for October 25, 2025, at Henderson Park, 3335 East Merced Falls Rd, Snelling, CA 95369, beginning at 1 PM.
