Norma Jean (Allen) Seifrick, 88 passed away peacefully at home in Dallas, TX on September 26, 2025.
Jean and her twin sister Nancy L. Allen were born April 17th, 1937, to Elnor E. (Wible) and William H. Allen in Oil City, PA. She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life John M. (Jack) Seifrick in 1959 and they recently celebrated sixty-six happy years.
Together, they made an adventurous life, residing on both coasts before rearing their family in Ohio, and eventually relocating to Texas. Jean’s lifelong priority centered around providing a warm and comfortable home for her family, full of love and life mementos. Jean made friends everywhere she lived, friendships actively maintained over the years.
Never afraid of a little excitement, Jean happily and skillfully crewed on the family’s sailboat racing campaigns, later joining Jack in snow skiing and offroad Jeep excursions with many friends at their second home in Frisco, CO. One such excursion found Jean hanging upside down from her seatbelt in their overturned Jeep, from which she calmly exited, helped to recover and finished the trip. From square dancing to camping across Alaska, she was always game. Jean enjoyed traveling, especially annual trips with Jack to Kapalua, HI. Her most recent adventure was to the south of France for her granddaughter Jane’s wedding. Gardening was a particular joy to Jean, and she also rarely missed a Dallas Cowboys game.
Jean leaves behind her husband Jack of Dallas, daughter Joni L. Seifrick of Dallas, son John A. (Jack) Seifrick with wife Ann of Dallas, granddaughters Sarah A. Seifrick of Dallas and Jane V. (Seifrick) Freund with husband Julien Freund and great-grandson Xavier D. Freund of Brussels, Belgium. Also surviving Jean are sisters Marcia Allen Barlett of Grove City, PA, Hattie Sue Baker of Humble, TX, and nephews Michael M. Baker and Joseph A. Baker and their families, sisters-in-law Carole Jean Allen of Boston, MA and Jean Nicole Seifrick of Courtland, OH, and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister Nancy, who ironically passed away just seven months earlier, and her brothers-in-law, Joe M. Baker, Gerald Barlett and Richard T. Seifrick.
A memorial service will be celebrated for Jean in Dallas at 3:30pm on Sunday, October 26th in the CC Young Chapel, 2nd Floor of the Vista Building, 4847 West Lawther Drive, with a reception afterward at 3443 West Lawther Drive. Additional services in Pennsylvania will follow at 11:00am on Saturday, November 8th at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 226 West State Street, Sharon, PA (the church where Jean and Jack were married), with a private burial to follow at Crestview Cemetery, Grove City, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
