Pastor Noble Earl Dennie Sr. was born on May 27th, 1952, in Gary, Indiana to the late Noble Augusta and Velma Dennie and transitioned from this life on October 19, 2025, after a series of complicated medical troubles. Noble was a proud high school graduate of Westside High School's class of 1970. Noble was the eldest of 10 siblings and shared countless stories of his childhood with his family. He shared a great love for his mother whom he stated was compassionate and a great cook. He shared that his father was stern but taught him excellent work ethics and how to become a provider to his own family.
Noble was dedicated to continuing his education, earning several degrees and certifications beginning with his Associates degree in General Studies Associates of Arts at Vincennes University in 1973, proceeding to obtaining two Bachelor's degrees-one in Arts of Organizational Management at Calumet College in 1990, and the other in Science for Information Technology at Devry University in 2003. Noble also earned a Master of Science degree at Southern New Hampshire University for Community Economic Development in 1999. Noble spent over 20 years working at the Gary Public Transportation Bus company, where he was a highly respected and beloved driver, supervisor, and contributing member of his community. Noble was ordained as a Pastor under the leadership of the late Bishop N. Ship and ventured to open the New Testament Church of Jesus Christ, where he pastored from 1999 until 2023, at the start of his health complications.
Pastor Noble Dennie was known for his bright and inviting character, speaking life and wisdom into the lives of those around him. Noble spoke in pride over his lifetime achievements: a highly enthusiastic Drum Major of the marching band at Westside High School, running the Bus company in the Gary Public Transportation System, pastoring and shepherding members of the New Testament Church of Jesus Christ, and above all pouring into the family in which he was born into and the one created with his late wife, Theresa L. Dennie. To his children and grandchildren, he was a pillar of faith, love and positivity with a larger-than-life personality. His outstanding character resonates in hearts. We cherish his memory now and forever. Every nickname, joke (even the ones in which he was the only one that got the punch line), his laugh, and compassionate life lessons are priceless and irreplaceable. We all dread his early departure from this earth. But as he has taught us so many times before, to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord. We pray that God will place in our hearts his memory instead of the hurt of losing such an amazing man. As you march into heaven we know that you lean back as far as you can, taking those long and joyful steps as you did leading, West Side High Marching Band many years ago. The impact you made on all the lives that you touched will forever be engraved in this world. Well done my good and faithful servant, as your work here on earth is done.
To all of those around him, Pastor Noble Dennie embodied the light of Christ that he preached boldly to all those he came into contact with. Noble possessed the ability to spark a room full of laughter with the simplicity of his character. His reputation as a father, protector, provider, pastor, husband, and teacher are all highly respected and remembered attributes of his character. Above all else, Noble's love and pride in his family was the cornerstone of his life. After the passing of his parents, Noble and Theresa Dennie continued to raise his four youngest siblings and began a family of their own. Noble was preceded in death by his parents Noble Augusta and Velma Dennie, his brothers Delbert (Dee) Dennie, Russell Dennie, Augusta (Charlie) Dennie, and his baby sister Beatrice Dennie-Henderson.
