Pastor Tommy Dolton was born July 5, 1965, to the late Mary Jane Dolton and Willie Frank (Tom) Gibbs in Yazoo, Mississippi.
Tommy grew up in Gary, Indiana and graduated from West Side High School in 1985. As a young person, he loved making a difference in people's lives.
Tommy accepted his call to the ministry in January 1988. One of his first sermons was "Making It On Broken Pieces."
He later became an ordained Elder in the Church of God in Christ.
As an Elder at Saints Home Church of God in Christ, he was over the Outreach Ministry, Assistant Superintendent of Sunday school, Choir President as well as Director. During this time, he founded the "Feeding the Hungry "ministry. For twenty-five years, the group would feed whoever came on Christmas Eve on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Broadway in Gary, Indiana.
Elder Dolton enjoyed going to the homes of the sick and shut in, with other devoted members of Saints Home to serve Communion. He would lead All Night shut-in prayer vigils on Friday nights, mentored youth and led community prayer groups. He also helped organize, along with local clergy, the City-Wide Prayer March to end violence in the city of Gary. This was an annual event for many years. Elder Dolton additionally named a Chaplain with the Gary Police Department.
Elder Dolton was one of the participants in the "7Deadly Sins" series launched by Pastor Clarence Harris of Love Feast Church of God in Christ in Gary, Indiana.
Elder Dolton joined with Bethel Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Pastor Chester Bell. Elder Dolton was a fervent worship leader and loved the Men's Sunday school class and teaching Bible Study. While attending Bethel, he continued to feed the hungry, delivering communion to those who were unable to attend service. During this time, he was appointed President of the Evangelism Department of Auxiliaries in Ministry by Bishop E. Bobby Warren, Prelate of the Indiana Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. He served as Vice President of the Region 11's Evangelism Department of the National Church of God in Christ under President Waverly Bumbrey.
Elder Tommy Dolton was a resolute, Holy ghost filled, fire baptized soldier in God's army. He would do whatever God wanted him to do and go where God said go. He loved God's people.
Elder Dolton accepted the call to elevation and founded Pinnacle of Faith Church of God in Christ with First Lady Darinka Dolton by his side in October 2014. They worked tirelessly to build the Kingdom of God, through soul winning and community outreach. When not in a physical building, Pinnacle of Faith aligned itself with Life Harvest Renewed Church, Anthony Edwards, Pastor. Following this, Pastor Dolton became an Advisor and Assistant to Pastor Janet Williams at Prince of Peace Church of God in Christ.
As God would have it, Pastor Dolton, along with his wife and congregation re-launched Pinnacle of Faith in 2025 with the Indiana Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop J. Rashad Jones, Prelate.
Elder Tommy Dolton was a nominee for the Sagamore of the Wabash Award given by the Governor of Indiana. Tommy was one of the three top picks. The Governor's office stated that "Mr. Dolton is Hoosiers' unsung Hero."
