Patricia A. Maycrovich Alberts, 81, of Willoughby Hills, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 31, 1944, in Danbury, Connecticut, Patricia lived a life defined by love, faith, and resilience.
Raised in Royal, Pennsylvania, by her extended family, Patricia always spoke fondly of her upbringing, surrounded by relatives who felt more like siblings than aunts and uncles. She graduated from Redstone Township High School in 1963, then moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where she began her career as a bookkeeper. Patricia’s life took root in love early—she and Edward M. Alberts Sr. had been devoted to each other since seventh grade. Their enduring bond led them to marry on November 27, 1965, in Pennsylvania, before settling in Eastlake, Ohio, to raise their family.
Over the years, Patricia worked for General Electric and Continental Cablevision, but her greatest and most rewarding role was as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her proudest achievement was her family, whom she cherished above all else. Patricia devoted herself wholeheartedly to creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Her kitchen was the heart of her household, where she often cooked for her loved ones, filling each meal with care and joy.
Patricia’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. A devoted member of St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church in Eastlake, she maintained a deep and abiding trust in God throughout her illness. Her special devotion to St. Jude was a reflection of her enduring hope and compassion for others. Even in the face of a difficult diagnosis, Patricia remained optimistic and steadfast, embodying strength and grace that inspired everyone who knew her.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—reading, crocheting thoughtful gifts for family members, and, most especially, spending time with her grandchildren. Her handmade scarves, each stitched with love, continue to warm the hearts and hands of those lucky enough to have received them. Patricia’s legacy of kindness, faith, and family devotion endures in the lives she touched and the memories she leaves behind.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband of sixty years, Edward M. Alberts Sr.; her daughter, Janeen Zumerling (Mark); her son, Edward Alberts Jr.; and her cherished grandchildren: Mark Zumerling Jr., Jason Zumerling, Edward Alberts III, Andi Jo Alberts, Matthew Zumerling, and Cody Alberts who were the light of her life. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Maycrovich, whom she now joins in eternal peace.
A Catholic Memorial Mass in celebration of Patricia’s life will be held on December 8, 2025, at noon at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church, 35781 Stevens Blvd., Eastlake, Ohio 44095. Father Josh Cochrac will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio 44273.
