Patricia Pauline Taylor passed away in her home of 60 years amongst her family at the age of 92 on Saturday October 11th, 2025.
Born on May 1st, 1933 in Yakima, Washington to Margaret and Lewis Duffield, Patricia was the second of nine children. She was preceded in death by her brother Jack and sister Judy, and is survived by her six younger siblings.
Patricia attended St. Joseph Academy High School and soon after received her cosmetology license from Roger’s Beauty School in 1952. She cut many friend’s and family’s hair, including her son Mike’s, well into her eighties.
She was married on January 2nd, 1953 to Claude Taylor, losing him to death after 35 years of marriage. Within that time she became a mother to eight children: Michael, Randall, Diana, Debora, Krista, Tamara, Shannon, and Hiedi. She was a grandmother to many, at the time of her passing having seventeen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren, with two more greats on the way.
Many who were not her grandchildren still called her grandma, giving Pat the title of “everyone’s grandma”. This was a testament to the comfort she imparted to those in her life. Her willingness to take anyone in who needed a place to stay made her home a safe haven to many.
Patricia was baptized on March 22, 1958 as a Jehovah’s Witness and her children often remarked how she rarely missed a meeting at the Kingdom Hall. Her congregation felt her steady presence and her regular support in the ministry, creating many close friendships that lasted her whole life. Her friendship and loving role as sister, mother and grandmother will be deeply missed by all.
