Peter John Gogan (1944-2025)
Peter was born on December 20, 1944, in Somerville, Massachusetts to Joseph (Max) and Lillian, and was raised in Providence, Rhode Island by his father and stepmother, Mary.
Pete was in the US Army during the Vietnam War where he gained valuable skills that transferred to his career as a quality engineer with Motorola in Plantation, Florida. He was also a co-owner of a business located in Melbourne, Florida. He did lots of volunteer work for a state senator and lead the HOA in his community.
Beyond his professional life, Peter was a loving husband to Lorraine (Lorry) Rizzo. They got married on Christmas of 1977. Their marriage was a love story for the ages. Pete and Lorry loved to entertain. They loved to travel, and they were devoted to caring for others. They adopted David, Dyane, and Kat Gogan.
He valued honesty above all else, and underneath his dry sense of humor (groaners), he was gentle and kind. He was a source of strength and guidance. He was an exemplary role model for his children and grandchildren; David and Kat Gogan, Dyane (Gogan) Turner, Marc, Jesse, Madee, and MJ Turner.
In Pete's free time, he was an avid coin collector and model train enthusiast and found great joy in cooking and cooking shows, painting, solving puzzles, and reading mysteries as well as being with his family and friends. He was a big supporter of the USWNT and as a 50-year Floridian, he cheered for the Bucs, Rays, and Seminoles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and dear sister Maxine (Dolly). He is survived by his children and grandchildren, David and Kat Gogan, Dyane (Gogan) Turner, Marc Turner, Jesse Turner, Madee Turner, and MJ Turner.
