Peter Macgowan of Bloomington passed away peacefully on November 3rd surrounded by his family. He lived a fulfilling life of 88 years. Born in Minneapolis, Peter graduated from Roosevelt High School, where he met his loving wife Sandra of 65 years. Following high school he attended the University of Minnesota. He served in the Navy on the USS Leyte aircraft carrier in the Air Department. Peter graduated in Business Administration from St. Cloud State University. He became a packaging machinery manufacturer's sales representative. Loving the outdoors, a daily highlight were long walks with Sandra in the nearby woods and lake trails, carrying his trusty seven iron. An avid golfer and skier, Peter and Sandra biked together extensively and took annual biking trips to Door County, Wisconsin. Peter was fortunate to be able to golf and bike into his mid eighty's. He loved fishing with his grandchildren. Always up for adventure and new experiences, Pete and Sandy were able to travel to Europe at various times to visit their children and grandchildren who resided abroad.
Peter was a kind, gentle soul who always took an interest in people, and believed in helping out friends and family. We remember his whole-hearted greetings, funny jokes, perfect comedic timing, and positive outlook. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He traveled to attend their activities, encourage and support them, always proud to share in their achievements. Predeceased by his parents Irvin and Lilyan, and dear sister Sara. Peter is deeply missed by wife Sandra, sister Susan, son Chris, daughter-in-law Jennifer, daughter Nancy, grandchildren Cass, Clayton, Logan, Connor, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends in the universe. A funeral will be held at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church 5025 Knox Avenue South, in Minneapolis on Monday, November 17 at 1:00PM.

And remember, as Roseanne Roseannadanna used to say, "It's always something. If it isn't one thing, it's another."
