After an amazing 75 year run of living life to its fullest we regret to announce the passing of Peter “DJ Harmonica Pete” Massas a long time Monmouth county resident. Peter left this mortal coil October 31st 2025.

Peter was born and raised in New York City where the streets served as his classroom, growing up in his fathers delis and his run ins with NYC’s rich counter culture helped to shape and define his worldview and passions.

Peter was truly a jack of all trades, a carpenter, handyman, longshoreman, a small business owner, an entertainer and photographer. Those who knew him knew that his work as an entertainer and photographer was also his passion, dedicating his time to teaching the youth about the joys of photography and working as both a photographer and DJ for local first responders. Peter was seldom found without a camera around his neck or a harmonica in his pocket.

Peter was preceded in death by his sister Elaine Massas. Peter is survived by his many wives, Jeanette Massas Werchinski, Suzi Zibutis, and Robin Coughlin. He is also survived by his two children, Charissa Massas and [redacted]
