Peter David Sheppard, 85, passed away on November 9, 2022, in Deer Park, New York. Born on December 29, 1936, in Little Falls, New York, Peter lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his passions.

Peter pursued higher education with determination and excellence. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), followed by a Master of Science degree from Adelphi University. His academic achievements laid the foundation for a long and successful career in engineering.

He began his professional journey at Sperry Unisys, where he worked for an impressive 39 years. After retiring from Sperry Unisys, Peter embarked on a second career at CPI Aero that spanned nearly two decades. Throughout both careers, he formed many lasting friendships and was respected for his intelligence and integrity.

Peter shared 58 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Anne. Together they raised three children: David (Jennifer), Kimberly (James), and Glenn, who preceded him in death. Peter was a devoted grandfather to Glenn, James, Benjamin, Joseph, and Paul. With two of his grandsons living just down the block, Peter was a constant presence in their lives—attending every sporting event and awards ceremony with pride and enthusiasm. Peter also enjoyed numerous trips to Disney World with his family. These moments created cherished memories that will endure for generations.

He is also remembered fondly by his siblings: James (Joyce), Billy Heins (Judy), Patricia Lawrence (Mal), Robert Heins (Shelly), and Sally Jesuta (Dave). He was preceded in death by his parents Carolyn and William Heins and brothers Peter and Wayne Heins.

In his earlier years, Peter enjoyed golfing and working around the yard. He loved traveling across the United States with Anne by his side. A passionate sports fan, he rarely missed a game played by the New York Jets or the New York Mets. His knowledge of sports statistics was matched only by his keen interest in current events and politics—topics he followed closely throughout his life.

Peter's character left an indelible mark on those who knew him. Known for his intelligence, sweetness, and unwavering honesty, he inspired others simply by being himself. His presence brought warmth to every room he entered; he was the kind of person who made you want to be better just by knowing him.

Peter David Sheppard will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him dearly.
