Phyllis (Dolgin) Kivitz, aged 93, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, in South Hempstead, NY. Born on February 8, 1932, Phyllis was known for her warm, loving, and adventurous spirit, deeply rooted in family values.

Phyllis grew up in Inwood, Manhattan with her parents and older brother. She had fond memories of her childhood playing in Isham Park, running up and down the 215th Street Steps, and swimming at the Miramar Pool with her friends. She attended P.S. 98, P.S. 52, and George Washington High School.

She spent her life nurturing a large and loving family, which was her greatest pride. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Kivitz, her brother and sister-in-law Elliot & Marian Dolgin, sister-in-law Shirley Kivitz, and her parents, Florence and Harry Dolgin.

She leaves behind a legacy through her five children and their spouses: Alan (Vicki), Chuck (Ellen), Larry (Tammy), Mark, and Pam.

Her life was further enriched by her 13 grandchildren: Janine (Greg), Melissa (Michael), Matthew (Rebecca), David, Jason, Michael, Nicole (Zach), Derek (Amy), Zach, Chelsea (Alex), Ryan, Howie, and Luke, as well as her 14 great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and fulfillment to her life.

Phyllis enjoyed engaging with her favorite hobbies, including mahjong, card games, gambling, and traveling; she was a centerpiece at every family celebration, each of which was filled with her laughter and love. She split her time between Long Island and Southern Florida over the last few decades - no matter where she was, though, she always loved spending time with her large group of friends, going out to eat, playing cards, and attending Shabbat Services on Friday nights. These activities were a testament to her zest for life and the pleasure she derived from simple joys.

A Shiva will be held at the home of her daughter, Pam Kivitz, on Wednesday, 11/19, where friends and relatives can gather in memory of Phyllis. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories shared by those who knew and loved her.
