Raymond “Ray” Holland, 64, passed away on November 15, 2025, in Plano, Texas.

Born on April 4, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, Ray earned All-City honors in football at Bowen High School. His athletic talent led to a college football scholarship, and he graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1984.

Ray began his professional career with the Chicago Police Department, where he served with distinction for 25 years, including time as a detective. After retiring from law enforcement, he moved to Texas and entered the banking industry, using his investigative expertise in fraud prevention. In both fields, Ray exemplified dedication to justice and public service.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Ray especially loved football. He also enjoyed fishing and golfing, finding joy and relaxation in the outdoors.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Amelia; his son Raymond Jr.; daughters Tiffany and Tasha; seven grandchildren; siblings Kymberly, Darian and Darius; and his mother Marta. His presence brought strength and warmth to those around him.

A man of deep faith, Ray lived by spiritual conviction that guided him through life’s challenges and triumphs. The words of Romans 14:8 reflect the essence of his belief: “For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's."

A going home service will be held at St. Mary's in Elmhurst, IL, on November 24, 2025, at 10 a.m., followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, 310 Alexander Blvd, Elmhurst, IL 60126.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the United Negro College Fund are appreciated.

May Raymond Holland’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him and continue to inspire lives rooted in faith, service, and love.
