Send Flowers
It is with great sadness we inform you of the passing of Richard Kenneth Albrecht Jr. Richard was born on September 12th 1966, in Oak Park, IL to Richard Kenneth Albrecht Sr. (deceased) and Carol Albrecht (nee Dragovich) of Dallas Texas. Richard was cherished son of Carol Albrecht, a loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. Beloved brother to David (Cindy) Albrecht, Gary (Jill) Albrecht and Michael (Selena) Albrecht and loving uncle to Emily, Ada, Cassandra, Spencer, Sydney, Aiden.
He passed away unexpectedly at his residence on June 14th 2025 in Coppell Texas.
Richard was a special person. He was the oldest of four brothers growing up in the 1970's where he was a natural leader of his younger siblings and always looked out for them. Many adventures and memories were made as young children when he and his family lived in Westchester, Illinois. He and his brothers could always be found together or with other kids from their block, playing baseball, exploring Mayfair Park and Salt Creek near the forest preserves near their house. Trips to Ben Franklin and Charger Inn or the local pool were common and Richard was there to lead them all and get them home safely. When the family moved to Naperville, Illinois, Richard was entering his high school years. He was involved in many things and loved being part of theater at school as well as working at the local thrift store. After high school, Richard attended College of DuPage and Western Illinois University. He began a career in the telecommunications industry and lived in Kansas City working for Sprint. He also worked at WorldCom and other telecommunication companies after relocating to Texas where he would live and work the remainder of his life.
Richard grew up in a time of great change and iconic themes in America. He loved so many things from this time that would define him in life. He went to see the movie Star Wars for his 11th birthday, and he fell in love with everything about that movie. Richard enjoyed so many things in life and was never afraid to let others know about his favorite interests. These include WWF wrestling and he was a huge fan of Godzilla movies as he spent many Saturday afternoons watching them on TV with his brothers. He loved dinosaurs, fossils, all types of rocks, river rafting, astronomy and outer space and so much else. He was a believer in Bigfoot and was not shy in his insistence that they existed. He loved discussions about the Loch Ness Monster, UFOs, the Great Pyramids and virtually everything that was a mystery or unknown and could not be explained. He studied and searched for those things and would engage others in them. Those who knew him will remember his love of music across all genres, the songs he loved and played becoming the soundtrack of his life, his love of movies which he always seemed to want to watch with his friends and family, bargain hunting and his cooking skills as well as his quick wit and great sense of humor and wonderful laugh and smile. He always wanted to be part of whatever was happening around him. He was also a person who worked very hard to provide for himself. He did many tough jobs including sheet metal installation, roofing, food service, and others. He was proud to have worked for 6 years at HD Supply in Flower Mound Texas where he was a valued employee.
Richard truly cared for others and was a great friend to many who found themselves down and out. He was a kind and loving man always willing to share time, conversation or whatever he had with others when he could. He was the proud dad to many cats over the years including Middy, Harry, Drake and Jack. These were his best little friends and gave him companionship and unconditional love through all the good times and bad.
No matter what life gave Richard, he always strived to better himself and others although many of the best things in this life eluded him.
God truly challenged Richard in this life, yet his spirit could not be broken. No matter what adversity he faced in life, he handled the challenges to the best of his ability and Richard never gave up.
He is admired among many who knew him for this most noble characteristic.
He will be missed terribly, and he will never be forgotten.
May Richard be at peace in eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and God the creator....
