Richard Barkhouse

Richard Barkhouse, 82, of Tewksbury (Formerly of Somerville/Boston) passed away at Lowell General Hospital on October 15, 2025.

Richie loved his family/friends, and all things Boston. He was a former Boston Cab driver, van driver for Mass General Hospital and former avid swimmer and diver. He spent many days driving around Boston, and loved the views of the skyline over looking the Charles River. He ALWAYS had a camera in hand, capturing photographs and memories. If you met Richie, he would insist you never left without a picture of one of his paintings.

He is survived by his wife, Diane (Pimental) Barkhouse; his daughter and son-in-law, Dina and Ross Callahan of Tewksbury, his three grandsons, Jack, Sean and Ryan Callahan. He was the son of the late Chester and Thelma (Costa) Barkhouse. He was preceded in death by his sister Janice (McGough) Phinney of Whitman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was brought comfort in his final days by the people closest to him, including his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ellie and Billy Morris of Wakefield.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the staff of the Westford House Memory Care Unit whose care and compassion meant so much to Richard and his family the past months.
