Richard Anthony Lacy II, 34, passed away on October 17, 2025, in Denton, Texas. Born on February 27, 1991, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Richard brought light and laughter to those around him throughout his life.

Raised in Texas, Richard attended Ore City High School in Ore City, TX where he developed a deep love for music as a percussionist and band enthusiast. His passion for rhythm and melody led him to pursue a music major at Kilgore College in Kilgore, Texas. Though his professional path later took him into the field of equipment operation, music remained a lifelong joy and creative outlet.

Richard was known for his peculiar personality and unique talents. He had an extraordinary gift for impersonations and possessed an impressive memory that often amazed those around him. His interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt—he found joy in playing Rummikub with loved ones, exploring the mysteries of astronomy and aliens, gaming with friends, and mastering the art of yo-yo tricks. These hobbies reflected his curious mind and playful spirit.

Above all else, Richard cherished time with his family. He loved the mother of his children, Nadia and was a devoted father to his sons, Alex Leon and Julian Mars Lacy. His love for them was unwavering and evident in every aspect of his life. He also shared close bonds with his parents—father Tony Lacy and stepmother Leann Lacy; mother Tracy Bowers Harlan—and with his siblings: brother Kyle Lacy and wife Jade (and their daughters London and Delilah), brother Christian Lacy, brother Tony Joe Allen, sister Brittany Fling and husband Brandon (and their daughter Amelia). Each relationship held a special place in his heart.

Richard’s spiritual nature guided him through life. He believed deeply in a higher being and carried within him a gentle soul that radiated kindness. Those who knew him will remember not only his humor and intelligence but also the tenderness he showed to others.

He was preceded in death by stepbrother Justin Tarver.

Richard’s memory will live on through the many lives he touched—with laughter shared over games, rhythms tapped out on drums, stories told under starry skies, and moments of quiet connection that spoke volumes.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Viewing will be held on October 26, 2025, from 03:00 PM to 05:00 PM at Mulkey-Bowles Montgomery Funeral Home 705 N. Locust, Denton, TX
