Richard "Rick" John Nichols, 71 passed away on November 4, 2025 in Georgia.
Rick was born on October 24, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio to Elma Nichols. He grew up with a generous heart and an adventurous spirit—qualities that stayed with him throughout his life.
In August of 1977, Rick married Linda Ann Turner, the girl next door. Together they started a family and raised their two sons, Ryan and Todd, in Bellbrook, Ohio.
Rick was a devoted and hands-on father, involved in Boy Scouts, family travels, camping, and the everyday adventures that made their home full of laughter and love. He and Linda raised their boys to be adventurous and kind and proudly supported them as they moved west and started their own families.
Rick's laughter and antics brought joy to many friends in his community. He was quick with a story or joke and enjoyed learning about others. He was passionate about music and football, cheering on his beloved Buckeyes and Browns through thick and thin. He raised many dogs over the years, cherishing their companionship. He supported his family with a 32-year career with UPS. In his retirement, he and Linda enjoyed visiting friends and family, exploring national parks and camping.
In July of 2011, Linda lost a swift battle with cancer.
Rick then married Lori Wulf in September 2013.
Rick was immensely proud of his family—his sons Ryan (Kelly) and Todd (Emily), both of Teton Valley, Idaho. And his grandchildren, Ida, Hazel, and Turner were the lights of his life.
He was preceded in death by Linda, his mother Elma and sister Karen. He is survived by his sons and their families; wife Lori and many extended relatives and friends who will miss his humor, warmth, and jovial presence.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
