Richard E. Sherrill IV, 85, of Sugarland, Texas passed away on Thursday, February 20 at Chelsea Gardens, Missouri City, Texas. He was born August 3, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, son of the late Richard E. Sherrill III and Mary Lucille Taylor Sherrill, and brother of the late Donald T. Sherrill. Richard attended the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with his degree in physics from McMurry College in Abilene, Texas. While at Pitt, Richard enjoyed participating in Heinz Chapel Choir. Richard continued his love of music playing a variety of instruments in the Air Force Reserve Band. Richard started his work career driving a big rig delivering bread and went on to working in computers for IBM and the University of Houston. He finished his career managing a public storage facility. An important part of Richard's life was his role in First Colony Levee Improvement District of Fort Bend County. Richard enjoyed time with his dogs, friends, listening to music, Texas Barbecue, but especially precious time with his beloved Anna. He is survived by his wife Anna Stanton Sherrill, and his stepdaughter Sheryl Hunter (David). Richard's life was celebrated in a small gathering of family and friends. He will be missed.
