Robert George Campbell

Robert "Bob" Campbell was born on October 16, 1946, and died peacefully on October 10, 2025, with his family by his side.

Bob was born to Marland and Eleanor Campbell and raised in Westwood, NJ, where he grew up with his brother and six sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a proud helicopter crew chief until his honorable discharge. Bob often spoke of his defining moments in service and dedicated much of his adult life to supporting veterans.

Bob was blessed to share his life with two wonderful women. He first met and married Ellen (Hickey) Campbell, with whom he raised two daughters, Megan and Katie, until Ellen's passing from breast cancer in 1999. Later, he met and married his wife, Kristyn Rae, in 2005. Together they enjoyed life in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and ultimately in southern New Jersey with their two dogs, Molly and Josie. Bob also became a loving stepfather to Renee.

Bob turned his lifelong passion for cars into a successful career in the automotive industry. His deep technical knowledge, integrity, and willingness to teach others helped shape the careers of many young mentees who became lifelong friends.

No matter where Bob went, he made friends easily. When his daughters were young, he was often found at Girl Scout meetings, band competitions, sporting events, and school outings. He always went above and beyond for his family, teaching his grandkids to fish and drive and supporting them in every way. As the oldest of his siblings, Bob was not only a big brother in his own family but to many others throughout his life. Even in his later years, he would give you the shirt off his back and instilled in his family the importance of kindness and generosity.

Bob lived life to the fullest, enjoying hobbies such as remote-control helicopters, flying, building and racing cars, fishing, and even skydiving with his daughter and a close friend. He was also an avid gardener who took great pride in his flowers.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Campbell. He is survived by his loving wife, Kristyn Rae; his daughters, Megan (James) D'Arienzo and Katie (Chris) Milligan; his stepdaughter, Renee Cassese; his brother, James (Andrée) Campbell; and his sisters, Nancy Anderson, Janet (Bill) Campbell, Karen Pannella, Lois (Philip) Velella, Diane (Michael) Laracuente, and Rita Hansen. Bob was also a devoted grandfather to Allison, Sophia, and Daniel D'Arienzo, Jack, Benjamin, and Matthew Milligan, and amazing step-grandfather to Gianna and Scott Kuhn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Bob's memory.
