Beloved Father, Fisherman, and Friend

Robert “Bob” Hersey Sr cast his final line on October 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and the peace of a life well-lived. He was a father, a fisherman, and the kind of man who found joy in the simple things—early mornings on the dock, sneaking treats to the dogs, playing cards with his granddaughter, and quietly appreciating life with his love, Gerri Wheaton and his fur friend, Jack.

Born with salt in his blood and a deep respect for the ocean, Bob spent his life in tune with the tides, completely content to be a Mainer and cruising along the coast.

Bob is predeceased by many. Most significantly his wife, Catherine Parker Hersey, his mom, the giggling Betty Webb and his father Nelson along with brother Reggie and sister Hazel.

He leaves behind his sons, Vincent & Robert Jr, their spouses, Danielle and Dawn and granddaughters, Tori and Rhiannon, as well as his sibling Laura and John. All will carry his spirit with them every day. He will be missed by countless friends and family who will miss his wit, his wisdom, and his weather-worn smile.

In honor of Bob, we won’t be holding a traditional service but rather a celebration of life at the Cundy’s Harbor Community Hall on October 19 at 10 AM for brunch, a cup of coffee and a good fish story as we bid farewell.
