Ronald Franklin Bearden, 83, passed away on October 16, 2025, in Houston, TX. Born on January 25, 1942, Ron was known for his patience and generosity, often described as someone who would give his last dollar to help others.
Ron attended South Park High School, where he was a key player on the State Championship basketball team. He furthered his education at Lamar University, earning a Bachelor of Arts, followed by a Masters Degree and PhD in Economics from the University of Houston. His academic achievements laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors.
Professionally, Ron was a visionary entrepreneur. Over 50 years ago, he founded R.F. Bearden Associates, making significant impacts in the oil and gas sector, technology, and financial industries. His business acumen and innovative spirit were hallmarks of his career.
Ron served his community and faith as a dedicated member of Christ Church Cathedral, Episcopal. His commitment to his faith was evident in his participation and support of church activities.
A man of many interests, Ron enjoyed working out, fishing, and particularly cherished time spent with his grandsons, Zach and Matthew Neuman, attending all their events and supporting them in their endeavors.
Ron is survived by his wife, Rebecca Bearden; his caregiver in his last years, stepson Greg Neuman and his wife Lisa; and grandsons, Zach and Matthew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Woodrow Bearden.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm on November 22, 2025, at the family residence, 1504 W Clay St, Houston, TX 77019. In line with his wishes, Ron's body was donated to science at The University of Texas Health and Science Center, reflecting his generous spirit and commitment to advancing medical research. Contributions in his memory may be made to support this noble cause.
