Ronald J. “Ron” Chiaramonte, age 93, a longtime resident of Quincy, died peacefully, Saturday, November 15, 2025 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, in the comfort of his loving family.
Ronald was born in Boston, to the late Santo and Sarah (Moccia) Chiaramonte. He was raised in Dorchester, and lived in Quincy for thirty-three years, previously in Dover and Cambridge. He attended the Boston Architectural Center and Architectural Design at Northeastern University.
Ron was proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean conflict.
He was employed as a certified construction specifier in the architectural industry for over forty years. He began his career in 1952 with Perry, Shaw, Hepburn, and Dean Architects in Boston. Over the years he worked for several firms including many years with The Architects Collaborative in Cambridge, Weather-Reps, Inc. in Waltham, and as a self-employed construction consultant.
Ron was well-respected and during his distinguished career, worked on many large construction projects including hospitals, universities, libraries, recreational facilities, office buildings, and housing throughout the United States, and internationally in Bahrain and Kuwait.
He was a member and served on the Board of Directors of various industry-related organizations and was the recipient of several architectural awards.
He was also a talented musician and enjoyed playing the drums with various groups throughout Greater Boston for years, making many friendships.
Ron was an old movie enthusiast, fond of Universal Studios films, Boris Karloff and all the famous actors and actresses of the era. He was a master craftsman, a man with “golden hands,” able to build anything.
Most of all, Ron was a man of amazing generosity and was devoted to his family and friends.

He shared a loving thirty-five-year partnership with Gloria P. Castano, artist and companion.
One of six siblings, he was the dear brother of Diane Johnson of Uxbridge, Chuck Chiaramonte of Florida, Bill Chiaramonte of Quincy, and was predeceased by Nicholas Chiaramonte and Gail Range.
Ron is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Memorial Funeral Services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Monday, November 24, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Memorial Visitation prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Inurnment, with military honors, at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.
