Ronald Charles Heim, 84, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Born in Altoona, PA on October 20, 1941, he was the son of the late Charles "Bud" & Dorothy Heim.

Ron relocated his family to York, PA in 1985 where he was employed as an engineering designer by Buchart-Horn, Inc. and then Kinsley Steel, from where he retired in 2006.

Ron loved spending time in the outdoors, participating in both archery and rifle deer hunting, and trout fishing. Ron also enjoyed attending model train railroad shows and designing and building his own extensive home model train railroad.

Ron faithfully attended the Church of the Open Door in York, PA and was a life-long servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ron found great satisfaction and pleasure using his gift of singing in the church choir. Ron also frequently and happily served at various church banquets and other functions.

Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Heim and is survived by a sister, Cheryl Plunkett of Asheboro, NC.

Ron leaves behind his loving and devoted family, wife, Bonnie, son Lon Heim (Kimberly), daughter Michelle Shaffer (Kevin), granddaughter, Morgan Heim, grandson Brady Heim (Samantha), and great grandson, Hunter Heim.
