Ronnie “Specky” Spector, 70, passed away in Richmond, Virginia, on October 17, 2025.

Born on January 30, 1955, in the Bronx, New York, he carried the unmistakable spirit of the Bronx throughout his life. When he moved to Virginia in 1980, he brought his quick wit, clear convictions, and determination, and stayed close with childhood friends, treasuring those lifelong connections.

From the moment he could hold a bat, Ronnie loved sports. The baseball field was where he felt most alive, and he brought that same energy and dedication into everything he did. He played from Little League through college, always giving his all. He also enjoyed football, street hockey, and racquetball, and even tried jai alai, embracing the challenge and intensity of every game. A die-hard fan of the Green Bay Packers, Chicago White Sox, and Boston Celtics, he loved college football, his alma mater, UCF. A lifelong collector of sports cards, Ronnie loved sharing the stories and stats of his favorite players with anyone who would listen. He savored the thrill of every game, whether at the horse track or on TV. The world seemed to pause whenever the game was on.

He spent over forty years in the car business, retiring in 2021 as Sales Manager at Whitten Brothers. He led with heart and integrity, worked tirelessly, and went out of his way to make everyone around him feel valued. A mentor to many, he shared his knowledge freely, guided others with patience, and offered support whenever needed. His giving spirit left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

A true music lover and numbers savant, his life was full of music, and he shared it freely with everyone around him. He loved playing it loud, sharing his music with his daughters and everyone around him. He explored Richmond’s restaurants and food festivals, turning every meal into a small adventure with friends and family. He gave everyone a nickname, a playful way to bring a smile and warmth, making people feel seen and like part of his family.

He shared nearly 50 years of marriage with his wife, Sharon, facing life’s challenges and joys side by side. His daughters, Audra and Tara, were the center of his heart, and he cherished being their dad every day.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Audra and Tara; brothers, Larry and Freddie; and grandsons, Caleb, Calder, and Jensen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther and David Spector.
