Auntie Rosie's fun-loving spirit will forever live on in her grandniece and grandnephews. From beach whiffle ball and mini golf to clamming adventures and "Deal or No Deal" games, she instilled in them a deep love for Cape Cod, her favorite place; her legacy is etched in every summer spent there dining at Tugboats, sipping Cape Codders , playing by the ocean, and ending long days at the beach with ice cream.
A Worcester State University graduate with a BSEd with a concentration in media , and a Masters of Education in Health Sciences, Rose was a passionate advocate for art, nature, and community. Rose launched her own Peace Art Project in Hyannis, creating large peace symbols for passersby on Main Street to sign and share messages of hope during the summer months. A passionate conservationist, she was an early and dedicated fundraiser for the SOS (Save Our Sound) initiative, supporting ocean and environmental preservation since its founding in 2002. She also devoted herself to the United Way of Cape Cod, serving on the board and helping lead its Power of the Purse fundraisers, which supported women and families with young children. In addition, she created the Pies for Parkinson's program, raising funds and awareness for several years.
Rose retired as Assistant Director of the Barnstable Senior Center in Hyannis, after many years of committed service to the community. Rose's warmth, creativity, and devotion to family and community touched many lives. Her memory will be held close by all who knew and loved her.
