Ruben Rivera

Ruben Rivera, age 81, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Callejones, Lares, Puerto Rico, he was the beloved son of Obdulia Alvarez y Rivera and Marcelino Rivera Santiago.

Ruben's life was filled with love, laughter, and quiet wisdom. He is survived by his cherished children Kristina, Riccadonna, and Rachel; his sons Ruben Jr. and Russell; and his stepchildren Erika and Ernie. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to many, and will be especially missed by his grandchildren Mireilla and Cruz, with whom he shared a home for the past ten years.

Ruben had a gentle spirit and a gift for connecting with those around him. He found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially a good cup of coffee and his favorite TV shows, Walker, Texas Ranger and The Jeffersons. A lifelong lover of the game of chess, Ruben shared that passion with his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, teaching them not only the moves on the board but also lessons in patience, strategy, and respect.

His kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

May he rest in peace, reunited with those who went before him, and remembered always for the love he gave and the life he lived.
