Ruth Jay (Kondrath), age 86, went to her Heavenly home on November 7, 2025. She was born on May 16, 1939, in Youngstown, Ohio. Ruth lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family, friends and community. A survivor of breast cancer, Ruth lived with strength and grace. She battled and never once complained.
She was the beloved wife of 67 years to Clinton (Clint) Jay and a devoted mother to three children: Clint Jay (CJ) and his wife Rhonda; Carol (Jeanie) Wilson and her husband Gene; and Jodi Henggeler and her husband Gus.
Ruth’s legacy continues through her grandchildren—Heather Herrera (Jonathan), Ashley Cates (Alsten), Nick Wilson (Katy), Clint Jay, and Kaitlynn Henggeler—and her great-grandchildren: Emma Jean (age 8) and Lucas Daniel Herrera(age 6), Kenna Joyce (age 6) and Dustin Eugene Wilson(age 6 months), and Arlo Jay Cates(age 6 months).
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, John and Theresa Kondrath; her sister, Theresa Cherry; and her loyal canine companion, Murphy.
Rooted in faith and guided by a generous spirit, Ruth found joy in serving others. She was an active member of the PDG Woman's Club, where she built lasting friendships through shared service. Her creativity shone through with the PDG Crafty Ladies as she contributed to countless projects with heartfelt enthusiasm. Ruth was also involved with PDG Bingo. She was our very own “Bingo Queen”, known for her lucky daubers and bag full of little trolls and various lucky charms.
Ruth’s warmth touched many lives, leaving behind cherished memories for all who knew her. Ruth’s presence was a blessing—her kindness enduring in the hearts of those around her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by God’s light.
Her memory will be a comfort to those who loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
