On November 7, 2025, Ruth Williams, née Marcucci, went to be with her Lord and Savior after fighting courageously against cancer. Ruth is survived by her loving children: Laura E. Williams, Regina Williams Castillo (Elliott Castillo), James Williams (Amber Lofstrom), and Michael Williams (Johann Evans), along with her 11 grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers and four sisters. She is predeceased by her father, Dr. Gerald Marcucci; her mother, Dr. Ruth L. A. Marcucci; and her brother, Michael Marcucci.

Born on March 30, 1955, in Philadelphia, Ruth was the third of eight children, first living in South Philadelphia and later in Huntingdon Valley, PA. She graduated from Lower Moreland High School, where her leadership and athleticism were evident as the captain of both the girls' volleyball and basketball teams.

In her youth, Ruth embraced a spirit of service, accompanying her parents on medical mission trips to Haiti, Panama, and parts of South America. There, she ministered alongside her father, a dentist, and her mother, a pediatrician.

Ruth attended Houghton Christian College before completing her nursing degree at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She began her career at Jefferson in both the Medical-Surgical and Renal Transplant units, later serving in the Renal Transplant Unit at Georgetown Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Ruth chose to devote herself to her family and left her nursing career to homeschool her four children. In 2010, she returned to nursing through home health work in Haddonfield. Beginning in 2011, Ruth served the Camden community in several roles, including mobile health nursing, harm-reduction work, and vaccine coordination. From 2016 to 2021, she worked with the Southern New Jersey Perinatal Cooperative as a Nurse Home Visitor, supporting young mothers, and also contributed to opioid overdose education through the Urban Treatment Association. Ruth concluded her career serving patients at Cooper University Health Care’s Early Intervention Program.

As a founding member of Sovereign Grace Church in Marlton, Ruth served faithfully for more than 30 years. In 1993, Ruth’s home served as the church congregation’s "home base," which was just the beginning of the many ways she served. At the church, Ruth taught Sunday school, supported the homeschooling community, and led the hospitality team. She also organized church picnics, women’s retreats, and most of the church’s events over the years.

Ruth served with warmth and generosity. Known for her kindness, joy, and steadfast love for Jesus Christ, Ruth was a treasured friend to many. She left a lasting mark on her family, friends, and the countless individuals she welcomed, encouraged, and loved over the years. She will be greatly missed, her lasting influence on her family and community is unquantifiable.

A service to honor Ruth's life will be held on Saturday, November 22nd, at

Sovereign Grace Church
111 West Green Tree Road
Marlton, NJ 08053.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family at the church at 2:00 PM, with the memorial to follow at 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to the Southern New Jersey Perinatal Cooperative at thecooperative.org.
