Ryan Matthew O'Sullivan, born in New York City to Emilie and George P. O'Sullivan on March 1, 1973, passed away on September 24, 2025 after fighting a fast-moving illness with indomitable spirit. To his family, he leaves the enduring example of courage, perseverance, and an unshakable belief that family always comes first. Ryan is survived by his devoted wife, Palmer Jones O'Sullivan, and their four beloved children: Ryan Finn O'Sullivan, George Ford O'Sullivan, Lachlan Hayes O'Sullivan, and Palmer Plum O'Sullivan. He is also survived by his brother, Brad Preston O'Sullivan, wife Jacquelyn Ann O'Sullivan, nephews Jack Ryan O'Sullivan, Hunter Preston O'Sullivan. Ryan graduated from Saint David's School in 1987 and Loyola School in 1991, before completing his studies at Georgetown University in 1995. He began his career at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, later establishing himself at several leading money center banks. Ultimately, Ryan discovered his true calling: building companies and transforming businesses. His efforts included the revitalization of the iconic Le Tigre brand, successfully sold to Kenneth Cole, as well as a series of visionary ventures in financial technology and asset management. Ryan was an early pioneer at Betterment, one of the largest independent online asset managers in the United States. He went on to lead as Founder & CEO of FinMain, where he applied more than 25 years of experience in financial services to innovation and growth. Ryan was a proven businessman and investor, but above all, he was a devoted father, husband, son, and brother. His love was always his family. To his children, he gave his boundless affection and unwavering guidance. To his friends, a wide circle spanning many walks of life, he gave loyalty, laughter, and the feeling of being truly special. He was loved deeply, and he loved deeply in return. May Ryan now realize the peace and joy he so selflessly gave to everyone around him throughout his life.
