(Sara) Jean Stutz (Wells), a beloved educator, cherished friend and sister, died peacefully on the evening of September 19th. She was diagnosed with dementia in 2019. She spent her last days at Rose Senior Living in Carmel IN. Jean's caregivers were gems that truly adored & enjoyed her company.

Jean was the oldest child of Robert J. Stutz & Dora E. (Musgrave) Stutz of Greensburg IN. She attended all 12 years of school in Greensburg where she graduated with many honors. She attended Indiana University school of Business and again graduated with honors. After a few years of working in business she went back to school to get a Master of Education, so she could teach "real world" skills.

Jean began teaching business, marketing, and finance and played a pivotal role in developing work-based learning programs in Indianapolis from 1978- 2005. She ended her career at McKenzie Career Center. She was a hero teacher to many and led innovative outings as a sponsor for DECA club.

In 2005 Jean moved back to Greensburg IN, to be near her parents as they aged. She was a talented singer & musician, quilter, gardener, painter, card maker as well as many other arts & crafts. Playing and watching golf was a passion & she was an IU fan through and through. Jean was a member of the Give Un Take Garden Club of Greensburg and served as president 2014-15. She lived at Lake Santee and was an active member of the Women's Club & Friends of Wildlife. She enjoyed card games & mah-jongg.

In Greensburg Jean had been a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and then First Presbyterian Church. In Indianapolis she was a member of Carmel Christian Church.

She is survived by her sister Barbara Stutz, of Portland Oregon and brother Tom Stutz and his family- Reverend Gale Stutz, nephew Tyler & Kayla Stutz and their children Molly & Adam, nephews Matthew Stutz & Andrew Stutz & niece Kasey Stutz, all of Indianapolis.

There will be a celebration of life in Greensburg at
Greensburg Country Club,
1630 W Park Rd, Greensburg, IN 47240, on
