Send Flowers
A Christian woman of remarkable strength and character, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, in Midvale, Utah, with family around her after a long illness at the age of 83.
Born to Joseph Heber and Edith Soderborg Hancock, her life was a testament to Christlike charity.
A passionate mother, cherished sister, and loyal friend, she was a source of unwavering kindness and quiet generosity to everyone she met.
Her most profound legacy is her nine children, whom she raised by her extraordinary faith in God, constant prayer and a work ethic that was second to none.
Without the convenience of a car, she navigated the city on foot and by bus to clean for other families by day and work as a nurse's aid by night.
As her children, we are exceedingly grateful for her sacrifice.
She is now reunited with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her siblings, Joseph, Esther, Carol, and Josiah John Hancock along with her two sons, Alan and James, who preceded her in death.
Mom will be deeply missed by her surviving sister, Kaziah Hancock; her seven children; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held November 1, 2025, aka All Saints Day (A fitting day to celebrate Mom's life!) at 11:30 a.m. MST at First Presbyterian Church, located at 12 C Street in Salt Lake City.
