Shirley Ann Fitz

Shirley Ann Fitz 86, passed away peacefully of natural causes at home on May 21st, 2025. She was born July 19th, 1938 to Emil Kupka and Rose Zmolek Kupka. She grew up in Clutier, IA.

She married Gene Fitz September 30th, 1961 in Waterloo, IA., they had 6 kids. She worked at the old Carpenters restaurant as a waitress.

She enjoyed vacations and camping with her family when the kids were younger. She and Gene enjoyed traveling and playing cards with their friends and she looked forward to family get togethers. She used to be an avid bingo player.

She's survived by her daughter's Gaylene Johnson, Sheila Cunningham (Tim), Amy (Brian) King, sons Mitch, Curtis, and Troy Fitz. Grandchildren, Joshua (Tara) Johnson, Bradley Johnson, Brooke Eighmey (Matt), Amanda King, Holly King, Lacey (Tom) Schultz, Emily (Jon) Nappi, David (Keri) Earlston, Joe Cunningham. 22 great-grandchildren. A sister Linda (Dave) Knepel. Sister-in-laws Patty Shinneman, Shirley (Larry) Davis, Marsha Schulz, Rhonda (Chuck) Smith, Betty Fitz, brother-in-laws, Ronnie (Janet) Fitz, Harold (Anna) Fitz. Nieces, nephews and cousins, and her pug Willie.

Proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, grandson Chad Fitz, son-in-law Mark Cunningham, brother Victor Kupka, sister-in-law Ann Kupka, 6 brother-in-laws and 2 sister-in-laws. Her pug Babygirl.

A Celebration of Life will be at the Evansdale Amvets, Saturday October 25th from 1:00 to 3:30. Casual dress includes jeans.

Shirley's wishes were to be cremated.
