Shirley Ann Williams was born on May 29, 1948, to Bonnie and Doc Anderson Poteet in Cleburne, Texas. She was greeted by her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley first met her future husband, Johnny Williams, in 1956 when his family moved to Sand Flat to pastor a local church. They quickly became childhood sweethearts. Shirley graduated from Grandview High School in 1966 and married in 1967. She then attended Hill Junior College. While in college, she started work at Rangaire in Cleburne, Texas, learning about computers. Her talents were quickly recognized, and she was asked to leave college to work full time. She often spoke of the exciting time of the dawn of the computer age and being a part of that era. That passion for computers along with her hard-working mindset led her to have a wonderful career as a female business leader managing teams and developing computer networks for the City of Hurst as well as Interstate Batteries.

In addition to her love of computers, Shirley had a gift of music and enjoyed playing for several churches, choirs, weddings and funerals. She was passionate about her faith and had a true servant's heart. She taught Sunday School, led Girls in Action and guided youth on many mission trips and choir tours. She desired that everyone know Jesus and would conduct Bible drills for her children and grandchildren so that they learned scripture.

She loved playing golf, reading a good book or puzzling with her children and grandchildren. One of her greatest joys was to be with her large extended family and friends. Many people remember her love of cooking, visiting and sitting around the table playing cards. If you were lucky enough to sit at her table, you were certain to have a fun time and enjoy a great meal.

Shirley's life will be most remembered for the love she had for Jesus and her family. And that legacy will continue on with the life lessons and Christian example that her family and friends live out because of her influence.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Johnny Williams of Frisco, Texas; her children, Johnny Williams, Jr. and wife Twyla of Bokchito, Oklahoma, and Sandi Sudderth and husband Jay of Prosper, Texas. Her favorite name was Grandmom to her 4 grandchildren: John Mark Williams and wife Emily, Jenna Williams, Bailey Reeves and husband Kyle, and Kate Sudderth, as well as her 2 great grandchildren, Jameson Reeves and Beckham Reeves. Shirley is also survived by her sister, Vicki Lynn Nichols, and husband, Nicky of Cleburne, Texas, and brothers, Don Poteet and Tom Poteet, both of Grandview, Texas; as well as many nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie and Doc Anderson Poteet, and sister, Patsy Wynn Cox.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:00am, at the First Baptist Church in Grandview, Texas, with a visitation at 10:00am. Flowers are welcome or the family would appreciate any donation made in Shirley's name be shared with The Cottages at Chapel Creek in Frisco, Texas.
