Stevie "Steve" LaFoy, 65, passed away on November 2, 2025, in Hueytown, Alabama. Born on February 14, 1960, in Alabama, Steve spent his life rooted in the state he loved. Steve was a loving father, grandfather, husband and friend.
A skilled craftsman, Steve dedicated his career to construction, shaping everything from home decks to commercial restaurants. His hands built more than structures—they helped shape communities. Whether tackling a small project or a large build, he approached each task with pride and precision.
Beyond his work, Steve found joy in shooting pool and was an active member of the Birmingham APA (American Poolplayers Association), where he formed many lasting friendships. He was also a devoted fan of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team, rarely missing a game and cheering with unwavering enthusiasm each fall Saturday.
Steve is survived by his wife, Michelle LaFoy; sister, Linda Lockhart; daughter, Jennifer Green and her husband Jerry; sons Jerimy and his wife Wendi, Johnny and his wife Laura, and Chase; stepchildren Brayden Payton and Hayden Gaither(Sam). He also leaves behind grandsons Dylan, Nick, Matthew, Peyton, and Cash; granddaughters Madyson, Grace, and Faith; great-grandson Easton; and many cousins who held him dear.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Ellen LaFoy; brothers Tommy and Ricky; and sister Faye.
Steve’s strength throughout his illness was a source of inspiration. Though he endured much during his battle with cancer, he faced each day with resilience. Now free from pain, may he rest peacefully.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
We will have a memorial service at a later date for his friends to come share memories with his family. Once a date has been confirmed we will reach out.
