Stewart Lorne Boehmer, 70, of North East, Maryland, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, after a courageous battle with Frontotemporal Dementia. Born in Geneva, Illinois, Stewart was a man of deep faith and a larger-than-life personality, known for his kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family. A lifelong Southern Baptist, his faith guided every aspect of his life and sustained him through all of life's challenges. He lived life fully and authentically, touching the lives of all who knew him with his generosity, quick wit, and strength of character.
He was a devoted husband to Kathleen Boehmer of almost 37 years, and a proud, loving father to his children: Hunter (and wife, Ruth) Boehmer of Lookout Mountain, GA; Devin Boehmer (and partner, Oliver Stratton) of Indianapolis, IN; and Jade Boehmer of Denver, CO. His pride and joy were his grandsons, Arlo and Fredrick Boehmer.
Stewart also leaves behind his devoted sister, Betty Jane Morrisette, and her husband, Peter; as well as beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. He shared a warm and loving relationship with his father-in-law, Thomas R. Perkins, and his wife, Lenore, of Georgetown, RI, who were a cherished part of his extended family.
Over the course of his career, Stewart worked as an executive retailer and business owner, a role that took him and his family to many parts of the country. Through all of these moves, he and his family met and grew close to many wonderful people whose friendships they continue to treasure and hold close to their hearts. Stewart was also a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, a team he cheered for passionately through every season.
In keeping with Stewart's wishes, no formal services will be held. The family will honor his life privately at a later date. Memories and condolences may be shared on Stewart's Facebook Memorial page or via Legacy.com.
