Susan Renfrow Land
December 14, 1946 - November 2, 2025
Susan Renfrow Land, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born in Augusta, Georgia on December 14, 1946, Susan was the beloved oldest daughter of Arthur Cleveland Renfrow, Jr and Margaret Epley Renfrow. As the child of a military family, she spent part of her youth overseas, including a memorable time in Japan, where her blonde hair and bright spirit made her a local curiosity and a symbol of cultural connection.
After returning to the United States, the Renfrow family settled in Columbus, Georgia, where Susan attended Baker High School and later pursued her education at Georgia Southwestern College.
Susan built a distinguished career in the Columbus residential real estate market, earning recognition as a lifetime member of the Multi-Million Dollar Club while working with Land, Inc. Her tenacity, professionalism and deep knowledge of the community made her a trusted name and a respected colleague.
A lifelong lover of bridge and card games, Susan was known for her competitive spirit and her love of winning. She also had a gift for hospitality—her home was often filled with laughter, delicious food, and the joy of friends and family gathered around her table. She was an extraordinary hostess who made everyone feel welcome.
To her four grandchildren, Susan was affectionately known as "GaGa." She delighted in spoiling Lainey, Jack, Martha and Sam with her cooking and playful gifts. Her love for them was evident in their time spent together at her home and at the beach.
Susan is survived by her children, E. Murray Reavis Jr. (Amy) and Epley Reavis Thomas; her grandchildren, Lainey and Jack Thomas, and Martha and Sam Reavis; her siblings, Jean Dempsey, John Renfrow, and Glenn Renfrow; and her special friends, Lee Rogers, David Kirk and EP Bagwell.
She leaves behind a legacy of tenacity and hospitality that will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
The family will host a reception to honor Susan's life at Green Island Country Club on Sunday, November 23rd, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Piedmont Regional Columbus Foundation (which supports the John B. Amos Cancer Center) and mark as a 'tribute gift' for Susan Land.
